Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities for Faculty members to volunteer for specific agencies throughout the year. These opportunities will be posted here as they are found.
NASA Seeking Proposal Reviewers
To increase the pool of un-conflicted reviewers we are seeking subject matter experts to engage in discussions at a virtual panel meeting or provide external reviews. While a significant time commitment, serving as a reviewer allows one to learn what’s new in the field, get first-hand experience with our review process, and network with colleagues. New researchers including post doctoral fellows and sometimes upper level graduate students are welcome. There are many open opportunities.
NSF: Exploring the Boundaries between MMN & BMAT
The Program Directors for the Metals and Metallic Nanostructures Program and the Biomaterials Program are interested in pursuing the interaction space between these domains. PIs who have ideas for research topics that incorporate topical elements from both programs but which do not fall distinctly within either portfolio are encouraged to contact Jonathan Madison (jmadison@nsf.gov), Nitsa Rosenzweig (nirosenz@nsf.gov), or Daniel Savin (dsavin@nsf.gov) to discuss.
NSF: Become a Reviewer for MMN
If you would like to participate in the merit review process as a reviewer, there are several opportunities each year to do so as MMN is always looking for opportunities to grow its pool of reviewers. To be considered, please provide your information via this survey. You will be able to provide your areas of expertise and the programs within DMR for which you feel you are qualified to review. Your information will be added into the DMR volunteer reviewer database which is accessible to all program directors DMR-wide.
